Headwaters Relief Organization recently learned that children at Life Christian Orphanage have been struck with cholera, an intestinal infection that can be fatal. Already, one staff member has died. Headwaters has been supporting the 36 children at Life Christian for three years.

This is a critical situation requiring Headwaters immediate response. Dr. Paul Schonbrun, an emergency care physician from West Virginia who has volunteered with Headwaters on several occasions, has been sent to Life Christian by Headwaters to provide urgent medical care, as well securing much-needed supplies including IVs, antibiotics, and water filters.

The ongoing cholera outbreak in Haiti, which is caused by contaminated water, is the worst epidemic of cholera in recent history, according to the Center for Disease Control. As a result, private medical missions have run short of supplies and there is little if any public health services available. Thus it is critical that nonprofits such as Headwaters Relief do what they can to help.

We have a goal of raising $5,000 for this pressing need. Please help us today by going to our donation page.
