Bringing Warmth to the Homeless
Ceil Van Campen is a Family Services Coordinator with Morning Sun Financial Services and an active volunteer! For the past eight years or so Ceil has been consistently giving her time and talents to Inner City Out Reach (ICOR). ICOR is an organization in Utah that provides warm winter clothing to the homeless population. Prior to distribution, Ceil purchases new items such as gloves, hats, thermals, boots, coats, and collects donations of gently used warm winter clothing. Ceil, along with a group of dedicated volunteers sort the items and distributes them to the homeless community. Ceil says she inherited the desire to give back from her mother, who was also an active volunteer. Through experiences with her mother, Ceil found the fulfillment you receive when you serve others. Ceil believes that we are all created for the purpose of service to others and is grateful for the opportunity to lend a hand to those who need it. When asked if Ceil had any advice to give someone who is interested in getting involved in their community her response was that of a seasoned volunteer, “Don’t let fear or doubt hold you back. There is so much joy you receive from serving others. You can’t comprehend it until you do it.”
