On November 8, 2014 Headwaters Relief Organization was given the Fil-Minnesotan Association Community Service Award in recognition for our disaster relief work in the Philippines. The award was given at the association’s annual meeting and ball this past Saturday night.

“We are pleased to recognize Headwaters Relief Organization for their outstanding work in supporting Filipinos. They have made an outstanding contribution to our country’s recovery and re-building efforts.” Jocelyn Quebral, President, Fil-Minnesotan Association

Headwaters Relief was on the ground with medical teams soon after Typhoon Haiyan devastated the island nation one year ago. Headwaters Relief subsequently published a children’s book, When Strong Winds Blow.

The Fil-Minnesotan Association recently awarded Headwaters Relief a $2,000 grant to publish additional copies of the book that will used during a return trip to the Philippines in early 2015.
